Yeah, it's the last week before finals, so what should I expect?  Still, I've got this paper for gender that I just can't seem to finish, for some odd reason.  It's going slower than any paper I've ever written.  I think maybe my brain is fried and that I need space from it.  Unfortunately, this paper is due tomorrow.

One thing I think (hope) these idiotic sociology papers have done for me is to reignite my writing capabilities.  I've been able to work through crap I really don't understand and turn them into decently coherent arguments.  In theory, this will be great for my dissertation. 

If I had one. 

The classes I am teaching are wrapping up nicely, I'm just ready to be finished with them.  I'm giving finals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  I'm worried about the testing center at Stark, which seems to have troubles getting the exams back in any snappy sort of time.  Usually exams take at least two weeks in campus mail, which is a luxury I don't have for finals. At least I'm done lecturing in both of those Stark classes, and all I have left for my Kent class is a fun lecture on Antarctica.

Amy and I watched a long documentary the Monday and last night about Mormons.  They're strange birds, so far as I can tell, but interesting none-the-less.  They've got some things right, they're just pretty misguided.  In terms of organization of space, resources and people, they may be the most efficient religious body I've ever heard of.  I only wish I was part of such a community that was so cohesive, because I am not.

I have big plans for the Student Government Association now that I have been elected president.  I don't know if any of them will work, and I promised Jose I wouldn't work on that until I made headway on my dissertation.  I need to get that bitch going.
