A decrepit little book-sized box of "The Itty Bitty Book Light," which has sat on the floor next to the bed empty since I brought it upstairs to use the light probably a year ago.

I came from a suburban wasteland built circa 1960s. Every yard was cut up by chain link. If you played with any sort of ball or toy in your yard, you had to learn early on how to hop it in order to get your toy back. Dozens of pairs of pants were ripped to shreds, and I probably still have some scars.

I don't think I call that singing.

Too many. Really, I think we have too many. Amy wants our latest foster to join up. I think it's too many.

Matted, knotted, greasy, long. A mess.

Yesterday I listened to some Allison Krause, which I know really isn't country music but she keeps winning country Grammys. Then again, Milli Vanilli won Grammys, so I don't think the Grammy people have any idea what they're doing.

Amy snoring, a floor fan running. That's all.

None. I don't do that anymore. The hardest drug I've had in the past nearly four months is a bit of caffeine a couple times.
