Relatively "meh."
That would be the way I'd describe the past weekend. See, since Amy and I are about to become Aunt Amy and Uncle Andy to a Hoosier fetus, Amy's parents didn't end up coming for the weekend as they had planned. Amy's sister-in-law had contractions started, and Amy's parents panicked about the notion of possibly becoming grandparents over the weekend. It's Monday, and while there's been no birth, there was also no visit.
The weekend was generally good and enjoyable, but I didn't get to go to the Kent State vs. Akron football game as I had planned. See, it was going to be Amy's dad and I, but since they didn't come and since Amy hates football, there was no reason to go. We did end up getting some movies and doing a couple of hikes over the weekend. It was nice.
Then again, I could have my molars pulled, and as long as I'm with Amy, that'd be nice too.
The vegetarian thing is still going pretty well. I've still been eating the leftovers, and Amy's still been almost entirely vegan. She hasn't had meat now in almost two weeks. For me, it's been a few days, but like we said, we have to get rid of what we have.
I mean, how much more in vain would the slaughter of animals be for meat that just gets thrown away uneaten? It's already paid for so the meat-producing economic system has already been supported... though I must admit: I had chicken three nights ago and I ended up giving most of it to Rikki. The taste for it is definitely wavering.
We're getting awfully close to a meat-free house, though. Our last two grocery trips have been essentially vegan. Well, the only exceptions were some Vegan-dogs I bought today, and mini-corn dogs that Amy got. And that bottle of cooking sherry for pasta wasn't entirely vegan, either.
And today, I got some fucking vegan beer brats! If they're decent, then I'm only finding a decent cheese alternative and a way to eat fake-BBQ-pulled-pork away from being a dietary vegan myself.
Baby steps, G. Baby steps.
The other news is that I posted my iTunes playlist on my website. It takes a while to load. Now, this isn't every track I've come across. I've lost a few hard drives over the years and my collection has taken hits each time. And I should include the warning that some of the music was added by Amy. In most cases, I think our difference in music tastes will be quite apparent.
If there's something that's excellent and not included, you should tell me about this thing so that I can expand my tastes. I always need more music.
I guess posting that works better in a lot of ways than posting any clever survey or other shit I get over Myspace bulletins or whatever. I'd like to think that my music gives insight into my life. Then again, I'd probably be terrified of the insight my music would give.
Take it for what it is, chief.
