I'm sitting around the house, blowing out snot by the gallon, listening to Lou Reed and reading about the Canadian House of Commons. How strange. Seems like a setting for a Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas sort of movie. Minus all drugs stronger than cough syrup, of course. Though cough syrup can be fun...
In response to yesterday's post, Tim was in a bad wreck on Wednesday night. He was driving, he was drinking, and now he's in the ICU. He should be okay, but he'll have a pretty long recovery and a number of other ramifications to deal with including legal problems. Hopefully this is dramatic enough to be his wakeup call, this being his third time caught driving under the influence. It's equal parts sickening and frustrating, with a heaping helping of each. We're looking at going home next weekend. By then, he's supposed to be out of the hospital. Plus, we'd get to meet our new niece.
It snowed yesterday. On October-fucking-12th. That tidbit is equal parts exciting and obnoxious. Last season was one of the lightest snowfall years on record, and it was about as much as we used to get every year in Muncie. This year is supposed to be better.
I'm teaching about Canadian politics tomorrow. That's why I'm studying the House of Commons.
