Biblical Numbers

I have to say, the whole announcement about embracing vegetarianism got more response than I expected.  Good work, people.

I'm really bored and really awake.  Of course I have to be up early tomorrow.  The vegetarian thing still exists, and I have now gone 30-some hours without meat.  I don't think I'd ever gone three hours without meat.

Okay, that's a lie.  I was a vegetarian for a while in 1997... about 40 days.  Very biblical, I guess.

Really, it's hard to describe how bored I am right now.  With the mental exhaustion from the week, I honestly have very little on my mind.  Normally, what keeps me up is the rushing thoughts of a mind on greenies... metaphorically of course.  Amy went to sleep nearly two hours ago, and since then I've dicked around on the internet and played Madden 2006.

These are both things I normally do to put my mind toward sleep.  But tonight, it didn't work because I didn't have anything to get off of my mind, but I'm not tired either.  It ain't fair.

I got so much done this week that it wasn't even funny.  I should be commended.  This coming week is going to have some moments of truth.  For one thing, I've got to meet with Tom and solidify my dissertation topic and get it going.  That's priority number one.  Secondly, I've got a presentation to give for qualitative methods.  Beyond that, I'm hoping to slack a little on my coursework readings this week and work on two of my coming papers.  I want to get them both out to journals before Christmas.

I'm at a weird place, because I have all of these things to do, and all of the facilities and time I need to do them, but I can't do them right this second.  I'm super excited about working on these things, but it seems that the time comes so slowly when I want it to fly.

I'm on such a role this week anyway.  I read 1600 pages and I wrote at least 20 for various purposes.  If I can keep that up, and if I can increase my IQ by about 100 points, I may make a decent scholar yet.
