Alpha

I don't think I ever posted this information, but my betta fish has been named Alpha by the results of the online poll.
We went to Cleveland last night and stayed over for much-needed time away. Pictures will come, Ray. Now, it's Monday night and I'm back at work, which sucks. The last few weeks have been stressful and, well, generally full for me. Lots of reading. Lots to do. This is the beginning of the fourth week of classes, and I feel like I've accomplished nothing (productivity-wise) except for expanding my mind.

I've got three papers and a book to get out for publication, and those projects seem like they're always on the back burner. Beyond that, I've got a dissertation proposal to create, which is only 15-20 pages, but much more significant than the length. The dissertation is coming a little better, though, as I've begun to construct a massive list of readings that I'll incorporate into my literature review. I think I'll have plenty of legitimacy from the readings I've found to take the (apparently) completely new hazards perspective I've created to task.

All of this needs to either be finished (the papers) or be close (the proposal) by the end of the semester. I fear for my freetime in the coming months.

And then... I come to my office for my Monday night office hour, and I can't accomplish anything. I sat and I stared for a number of minutes tonight until I decided to blog. I think it's a mental block in that I'm only up here for an hour and 45, and that (for some reason in my head) is not enough time to do anything.

The weekend was nice, though. It was good to be away from home in a relatively isolated non-work environment. Amy and I hit a restaurant in Little Italy that we visited during our first trip ever together, which was ironically to Cleveland before we ever knew we'd live 30 minutes away from there.

I don't even know if any of those pictures exist anymore. If they do, maybe I'll put them up too.
