I've got a few minutes before class.
Things around the Tuscarawas Campus have been a circus today. Apparently, they were breaking ground on a new building, and they put out a press release on the event, saying that Rob Ney, a congressman who's been in some trouble since the press release was published, was going to attend. Apparently, his troubles prevented him from making the commitment, but all kinds of national news outlets (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, etc) had their trucks here to catch a glimpse of the guy.
This wouldn't have effected me at all, except that since Ney didn't come, there were leftover creme puffs and one of the faculty members gave me one as I worked here in the faculty workroom. Mmmm.
Some other random news: yesterday on the way home from Tuscarawas, I stopped at a gas station in Canton to get a quart of oil for Pedro, since he was running a little low. In the gas station, I crossed paths with Rayfield Wright, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this past weekend. I wouldn't have known it was him, but people were swarming him for autographs so I asked a bystander. His daughter(?) was wearing a Rayfield Wright t-shirt as well. He played for the Cowboys back at some point in the 1980s I think. I don't know. He seemed very nice and very appreciative of recognition that the people were pouring on to him. Once he satisfied his swarm, he got into his sweet-looking Expedition (Texas plates) with his family and drove away. I witnessed that much as I was hunching over Pedro's ass, giving him a transfusion of sorts.
Amy has a job interview today at a hotel. I hope things work out.
I worked on theshears.com some more last night. Anyone who visits can now comment on the content, like photo albums and our communal blog. Andy.theshears.com is also coming along, though slowly.
