Headache

Toronto was a nice trip.  It honestly wasn't terribly relaxing, but it was a good change of scenery and it was stimulating.  You can see pictures here.  Like I said, it was an enjoyable trip.  Today, I am exhausted.

Back Home Again... In Indiana's Finest Resort.

It's weird. Being at my parents' house is like being at a hotel anymore. There's a mildly uncomfortable bed of the wrong size in our own room, a private bathroom, satellite TV, a swimming pool, free breakfast, and a free morning newspaper.

The Next Level

I feel like I've just reacquainted myself with reality after a drug-induced daze of like 48 hours. I'm cleaning the dried drool out of my beard.

Visiting New York City

This morning, I visited New York City in a dream.  It was a strangely-rememberable dream.  I had gone to New York City in a class with Jim Tyner, a faculty member at Kent.  Also in this class was Sam Edmonds, an old friend from high school whom I haven't seen since Kling's funeral, and with whom I have had no communication of note for a long time before that.

Last Evening...

I spent extensive time last night, right after my two summer classes (that I'm taking) ended celebrating. Yep. Amy and I worked for a couple of hours on a jigsaw puzzle.

Random Thoughts, Volume 12

I've got a few minutes, and I need a break.  I finished the sociology final this morning, and turned in the final paper.  Since then, I've been working on a paper about Dubai for my Geography of the Middle East class.  It ended up showcasing the dualities of capitalism, with absolutely insane development fueled by the exploitation of foreign workers, blah blah.

Chopsticks

The weekend was pretty great.  The bed and breakfast was hokey, but relaxing.  We went swimming in Lake Erie (for which my ear has yet to fully forgive me) and just generally relaxed.  We didn't hit the zoo because it was too busy and pretty hot.  We went to an Aeros game (free ticket from Amy's work) instead.

Calm Before the Storm

It's not going to be a big storm, just like one of those little summer pop-up storms that go through, last like 20 minutes and wreak a little havoc.

The Flaky Hitler Routine

One thing I've noticed about the past couple years is that when any person between the ages of 13 and 40 want to mock patriotism, they sing "America... Fuck Yeah!" from Team America World Police. I have to admit that the song was one of my favorite parts of that movie. Well, that and all of the puppet comedy. The song nearly made me shit my pants, though, from all of the laughing.

Children of the Corn

America's birthday turned out to be an odd day. It was so incredibly humid all day, even in the house as I mentioned earlier. Amy did get off at noon, which was great. We went to some get-together from her church people that we were invited to and found that we were the only people there without at least two kids. I have no problem with kids, but there were 12-15 kids, all younger than 5 years old running around. The parents had nothing to talk about but parental things. We left after an hour.

Amurkah

Happy Birthday, America. It's too bad that you're such a pretentious ass. So much potential just absolutely wasted on greed and bombs. What a shame.

Turds and Mud

Today is one of those grossly-humid days.  You know the type: when the air conditioner just isn't capable of removing all of the humidity so your living room seems foggy and sticky even though it's 68 degrees.

Pull Out! PULL OUT!!!

It's pretty often that I see t-shirts that make me want to lose weight. See, most t-shirts don't come in sizes larger than a 2x, which is something I haven't been able to really wear since college. Quitting smoking kind of ended that happy time.
