Like I mentioned in my last blog entry, I put a location tracker on my main profile. It's anonymous and it keeps track of the locations of people who have looked at my profile. If you haven't clicked on my profile to have your location plotted, I smite you. Do it. You don't have to read it or anything, just let the thing load so your location can be recorded. Jerk. Really, I just like to see all of the little dots.

Anyway, my click was the first entry to this tracker, and it was only today that I noticed something. Akron is a long ways from Indiana. I mean, seriously. I kept noticing myself looking at the zoomed out North American continent and seeing my eyes focusing straight to Indiana, as if to set my bearings.

And why not, since that was my frame of existential reference for nearly 24 years? It's just that the single Akron marker looked amazingly off-center. Any geographer will tell you that the geographical center of the United States is either in Lebanon, Kansas (48-contiguous) or Castle Rock, South Dakota (all 50 states). Yet to me, it's a few states to the east of that point, and a marker representing my location in Akron just seems too far to the right, despite its locational accuracy.

Even after... closing in on 11 months now. Wow.

I guess one year does little to erase 24.
