89

A rare midday blog:
That sociology exam that I took yesterday... I expected an 84 and got an 89.  I figured that this wasn't too shabby considering the fact that I had only been in class one day due to late registration.  I think I can work with that.  I arrived to class early this morning, and the prof hand-delivered my exam.  She had voiced concerns about me being able to pull this class off having missed so much, but today she congratulated me and voiced an opinion that I may just make it through the class alive.

Not bad.

I came home after class to get some lunch.  I determined that it would be cheaper, even considering gasoline and time, to eat lunch at home than to pick up something in Kent.  We're trying super hard to save money right now so that we might take our anniversary to Toronto.  That'd be a blast, but it'd be expensive.  Funny thing is, a nice trip to Toronto is only about $150-200 more than a similar trip to Cleveland.  We're both rooting for Toronto, which is far cooler than Cleveland.  Finances will tell, though.

We're still awaiting the payment of financial aid.  The financial aid office is being inexcusably slow in giving us our money.  I hate it.  We need to pay bills, and I haven't been paid since May 16.  Money will come from my teaching assignments, for sure, but not until mid-to-late July.  We can't wait that long to pay bills.  They would tar and feather us.

So, once I have a couple peanut butter sandwiches and relax a few minutes, I will be driving back to Kent for my Middle East class.  I'm tempted to skip, but I know I can't.  My not-skipping is practically pathological these days.

C(K?)ory and Amy (Christian vegan folks from Amy's church) are coming over tonight (finally).  I'm terrified for social interaction and the house is a bit of a wreck.  After class, I'm going to have to clean like janitor on speed.  I'm not looking forward to it, but I am anticipating having some friends outside of work.  That would be nice.

Still, though, an 89 in sociology?  Ridiculous.
