There are things on my mind that I can't articulate. They have both tremendous relevance and none whatsoever. Call them additional musings of an overstimulated and overcynical mind who just loves to question culture and society. It's nothing personal, mind you.
We went to the Akron Zoo today and visited the penguins, among other critters. It's a nice zoo, and since we, with great foresight, purchased an annual membership we get in for free. We're fucking broke, and it was entertainment.
We've (mostly I've) had an odd habit lately of checking out movies from the library that were my favorites as a child and watching them 15 years later. It's been interesting to see what I used to take so seriously. In 15 more years, I'll look back at today as chickenshit too, I'm sure. Today's adventure was Disney's animated Robin Hood, you know, the one from the 1970s when all the characters are animals. My dad, using his high-tech video equipment, dubbed us hundreds of Disney films that we had rented from Marsh, Stars and Stripes Video, DJ Video and Muncie Video. Only Marsh, a grocery store with a video section, still exists. The others were run out by Blockbuster and Hollywood. Strangely, some of the story and jokes in Robin Hood made more sense today than when I was a kid. I think.
I've always been dense. If you know me, you know this. My childhood was certainly no exception to this fact.
I'm wondering what Pete's Dragon will be like. It was my favorite movie when I was like five or so.
Oh, and I got a goofy looking hat that makes me look suave. I'll post pictures eventually.
If you read this, then I managed to get to sleep without overthinking the point I first mentioned. Otherwise, I'll be on here editing this point to talk out my thoughts.
Good night, jerks.
