Today has been much better. Apparently, I did exactly what I needed to do to calm myself down and get everything in gear. I've gotten more work accomplished in today's short amount of free time than I did for the week before.
A couple of bits of news for today:
One, I worked over my Indiana and the War on Terror presentation because I'm giving it at the university-wide Graduate Student Colloquium next Wednesday. It's a nice little vita-padder, to which I'm certain few will show up to watch.
In my working of this, I came across an article in the Indy Star, reporting poll results that found Dubya's support in Indiana ranging around the 37% range. This is big news, as Clinton's (who Hoosiers seemed to universally hate) support in Indiana was 37% at its lowest. I have mentioned this fact in the newest version of my presentation.
How was I able to work on this? I finally found my fucking FlashDrive. Thank god.
Second bit of news: I heard from Rob Schwartz today, my old thesis advisor. He offered me a part-time online-only job teaching a course for Arkansas Tech in the fall. I never have to see the kids eye-to-eye, all I have to do is teach online. I'm certainly considering taking this on, as the pay rate per class is better than I made at Ivy Tech for showing up in-person each week. This is generally good news, even if I have to end up turning it down.
I've got a little bit of a headache which I'm sure is nothing more than being hungry. I'm thinking of going home to eat, even though I need to research more and even though I don't want to go home if Amy isn't there.
I've worked hard today, and I'm hungry...
