Let's see... changed Pedro's oil early this morning since he was starting to run like shit, and that went off without a hitch. Went to work, did some good work, taught class and that went fairly okay. Then, came home and didn't do much until Amy came home, which was alright. Ate a quick meal at Swenson's, then went to the Aeros game. It's a pretty nice little ballpark. They're AA, so it's not huge... I mean, Victory Field is pretty close to perfect in every regard, but this is right up there.
Cool thing is, I asked for seats for a fat ass (mine) and they had rows of seats specifically designated for fat asses. Those were the most comfortable ballpark seats I'd sat in since I've been grown. And all seats were "on sale" for the first week of the season. Six bucks for excellent seats to a ballgame! And the weather was perfect. We're probably going to go back on Sunday.
Here's my current dilemma: the Aeros don't carry hats in my size, the unreasonable hat-size 8. I need a hat. I always get a hat. I was so depressed not to have a hat. I'm considering buying an Indians hat (to whom the Aeros are affiliated, a common hat at Canal Park) just to wear to the Aeros games. I know the Indians come in size 8, at least up at the Jake... Would that be treasonous against the Reds? I could wear my Reds hat, but wouldn't that be against the Aeros, the team of my new town? I guess I could wear my Youngstown Steelhounds hat and represent minor league sports in northeastern Ohio, but... a hockey-themed baseball cap to a baseball game?
Do I think too much about baseball caps? I do own a ton of them yet strangely, I haven't worn them very often lately. Then again, with my hair grown out, I have a mullet when I wear a hat.
Beyond the hat dilemma, today was a pretty decent day. Not stupendously great, but certainly not horrifically bad. And baseball is always good... like high-quality cold beer.
