Ugh. Yesterday sucked. Amy was at work until nearly 6:30; she's normally off by 4:00 but the shelter has 16 dogs when a normal load is like four. Beyond that, the bank raped us up the ass and didn't even have the courtesy to clean up after it was done. Because things "hit in the wrong order" and we had too many "floating" charges that hadn't hit, despite a massive deposit of my month's wages that was also "floating" but "in the wrong order", we got charged $93. I called and complained and was about in tears. They said they may refund half.
Fuck banks. More importantly? Fuck money. I hate money. All it does is turn people into assholes.
Speaking of money, the past month has been productive for a band called Margot and the Nuclear So & Sos. In the past month, they've put their album into wide release on the Artemis label, made a few dozen taped appearances on MTV, and played South by Southwest in Austin. Not a bad month. These activities move them into second place in terms of commercial success on the list of bands with which I've been at one point acquainted with at least one member. They surpassed the Retreads, an excellent rock band that had reached regional god-ship and the former second place, and are still beneath Evanescence on that list. Based on the past week, though, it seems they may eventually reach number one. Their CD is good... I got an earlier release digitally. Buy it, and help Tyler and company. It's Indiana folk making good, which is sadly hard to find sometimes.
I just hope they don't become assholes because of money. The only one I know in any depth from the group is Tyler, and he's not an asshole.
I'm supposed to go volunteer and play with puppies today. Supposedly this will help Amy out tremendously and get her home sooner. I think it's a plot to hang out with me. Either way, I'm going I suppose. She's really getting swallowed by this new job, and they're not paying her shit for it. She also "hired" (or "enslaved" since I'm not getting paid, either) me to to redesign the Pet Guards website. I've updated some of the content, and that's about it. The old design is just fine for my liking. I'm still awaiting new content from the powers-that-be in that organization, so there are many many many holes in the page. I'm not going to be the end-all-be-all for that thing. I don't have time.
So much for getting everything done over break! That's just not going to happen.
