Here it is, Monday night, and I'm sitting at Ivy Tech, waiting for my class at Muncie to finish their finals. I've gotten their grades as figured as they can be, and I'm just waiting to grade their finals, plug in the points, and assign final grades. I even have the grade submission window open for this class, awaiting the chance to get it completely done. I'm proud of myself for being this far in my Ivy Tech responsibilities.
In other news, Sunday night I managed to get all of my citations done for Indiana. Now all I have to do is write three chapters, essentially from scratch. I can pull that off by Thursday. I hope.
Today, we went down and saw Grandma Eldridge again to take more video and ask more questions. I think I finally have enough to get something written up and completed enough to get a grade for that project. That's something else I have to do by Friday. It's going to be a long couple of days/nights. Luckily (and don't take this the wrong way) Amy's going to work the next couple days, while I am off. That means I can sit home and work with little or no interruption, which will be incredibly nice. I should have NO PROBLEM getting these projects done with a work environment like that.
I did go to the departmental party this past Saturday night. It wasn't all bad, and I didn't mind being there. It didn't last long, and the food was good. It wasn't uncomfortable or anything, either. I guess I generally dread social situations, which is nothing new, but this was okay.
I can't wait to have my dumb work finished so that I can work on completing the book designs again. It was a great deal of fun and very rewarding to work on those, so I just want to work on them again and get them finished. I have a few other things to get done first, though, and until those are done I'm working on nothing else.
Waiting, waiting...
Amy and I have determined approximately when we're going campus visiting next semester, so that's good. It'll be about January 19 through 23rd, and we're going to be able to hit all three campuses. Should be a nice diversion, and a nice trip on which we'll dream about our future together in a strange new place... not that any place can be considered as strange as Muncie, but whatever. I'm looking forward to it a great deal.
Hurry up, damn kids. I want to go home.
So tonight, all I have to do to finish Ivy Tech is grade their exam, plug a point value into a spreadsheet, and then calculate the grade as a sum of the calculations. Sounds like a winner!
I hope that I'll get some Ivy Tech classes next semester. I have to, or the bank is broken. Kapow! Gone, no money, no home, no car. It would be VERY sad, but we'll figure it out. I'd like to have four Ivy Tech classes next semester. Count em, four. That'd be 1560 a month.... on top of my 780 from Ball State.... making it 2340 a month for me. THAT would rule. We'd be swimming in cash, and we'd be able to save enough that summer won't be such a bummer. And maybe even pay some debts on top of that. Not bad, not bad.
Four classes may be a lot, but I would deal with it. It'd be eight more guaranteed thesis work hours per week as well. Not bad! MAN do I need it. What'd be the bomb-diggity is if one of the classes (or two) were geography. That is really what I need. I usually don't hear, though, until a week before.
Hopefully, this summer, Venu will also let me teach a few classes for the department. I'll teach anything! Anytime!
But, we'll see. Hurry up, kids.
