Done! Almost.

Much earlier today, I turned in the project on Grandma Eldridge.
I found out that my Indiana text revisions earned me an A. I already knew that my graphics for the book had earned me an A. Now, I await the grade for the Appalachia/Grandma Eldridge project. Hopefully, that will too be an easy A. If it is, I've made a clean sweep of my grad classes, getting a 4.0 for the first time since I was in the sixth grade... twelve years ago. So, I'm done, and now I can relax!

Except for ONE MORE THING. My Urban Geography final is tomorrow. I love Urban Geography, I think it's the most interesting manifestation of human culture. However, I have to run the table to get an A out of that one. Believe me, it's harder than it looks. The guy that teaches it, Dr. Slack, is certainly not an easy grade. He's an overly formal Brit... and his classes are known for having very few points. So far, the class has accumulated 187.25 (?) points. His 50-point essay exams are graded in single point increments, and he always rounds down to not give more points than deserved. For an exam to get a perfect grade, it has to quote his lectures and the textbook in their entirety.

The only other time I had him in a class, I ended up with a B. This was Global Geography during my first freshman semester. That time, as well, that grade was the only thing that stood between me and my first 4.0 semester since the sixth grade.

So, thus far, I've gotten an 86%. See, back when I had my surgery, I missed an exam and had to make it up later. I bombed (for me) that exam, getting a 70% on it, which knocked my grade in the class from a 98% to an 86%. My final project grade hasn't hit, but he congratulated me in the hall for my excellent work on it.... from someone so formal and British, that must be good, right? I calculated it... if I run the table for that project, which I'm generally expecting, and get a 90 on the exam, I'll just get an A in the class, if he rounds up. Which... he says he does based on good attendance and completion of assignments, both of which I've nailed. No worries... no worries... just have to get an A on a Slack exam. Riiiiight.

So tonight, though, was nice. Amy came home from work right when I finished my paper, so we delivered that. I would like to note, starting from scratch, that in 6 hours today I wrote 24 fully-cited pages, a works cited page, and two appendices with maps and photographs. An A out of this would impress even myself.

Anyway, Amy came, we went and delivered my paper, then we went to Ivy Tech to get her signed up for an internet class. Mind you, this is 4:30 pm on the Friday before break, but Ivy Tech office hours are until 6:00 pm each day. No one in the building was authorized to sign her up for the online class, and they weren't to return until after the first of the year. I'll bet they get paid for the whole day, too. It's simply amazing how that works.

After being raped by Ivy Tech, I helped Amy clean up her ass, and we went to Taco Bell. After Taco Bell, we went to Lowery's to buy chocolate for our sets of parents, since we can afford very little else this year for Christmas. Christmas is going to be very sad in the way of presents, because there will be very few exchanging hands... but that's okay. I can't think too much about Christmas yet, because I've still got a final to take. That's been my policy since I've been in school -- no thinking or planning for Christmas until I'm done with finals. Then, I can shop for or do whatever.

After Lowery's, we went to the video store and got "I Robot," "The Bourne Supremacy" and "Winged Migration." I had never heard of "I Robot;" apparently it's some Will Smith futuristic thing in which he battles robots. Whatever. We watched "The Bourne Supremacy" tonight, the sequel to "The Bourne Identity." It was enjoyable... not as good as the original, but still very good. Winged Migration is some documentary on the movements of birds. It looks incredibly stupid, but Amy wanted to watch it. I probably will to encourage the fact that... at least it's not a stupid romantic comedy, like.... "The Wedding Planner." Talk about crap!

Odd side note -- the community choir that Amy's been singing with the past few months has an alto in it that I used to date. Her name is Rachel. I dated her twice in the post-flush, pre-Amy time. I met her online, which is where I met just about everyone I've ever dated. I'm too shy to actually approach anyone in public. The first time I dated her it was because she was incredibly cute. I thought she was adorable, but the first date she didn't say shit. She... was incredibly boring. Thinking that it might be a strange happening because of shyness, I took her out again. It was even worse. It was the night before that last date that I had started talking to Amy. Needless to say, I never had a need for Rachel again, nor did she really have any desire to date me, I don't think. She was a young'un anyway, and BOOOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGGG. But, it was weird to see her. I didn't realize who she was until during the concert when Amy was singing. It drove me NUTS not having anyone to tell that strange little tidbit to. I could obviously never live long without Amy by my side.

Anyway, after we got the movies, we can home and went to bed. At six. It was wonderful. Just loving, snuggling, making love, watching movies and TV. The stuff that dreams are made of!

Unfortunately, as wonderful as it was to reeeealllly finally spend some time with her, it's given me the laying-in-bed-too-long-restlessness, which is why I'm on here now, at 3:00 am.

So, tomorrow will be spent studying for a final, at least partially. I don't like it, but it's the last thing I have to do before break. Then, I get to work on more leisurely and entertaining work.

I like it.
